Writing a good cover letter

There are a number of ways that you can write a covering letter, and how you do it all depends on what kind of cover letter you require.

There are four kinds of cover letters. These are:

  • Application Letter - An application letter is written to apply for a specific job opening, and should highly your Transferable Skills, which are relevant to the role which you are applying for.
  • Referral Cover Letter - A referral cover letter mentions the name of a person who referred you to a job, and this person may even be able to act as a personal or professional reference.
  • Letter of Interest - A letter of interest is a cover letter that inquires about possible job vacancies within a company.
  • Networking Letter - A networking cover letter can be sent to friends, family and other social/professional connections that you have to get the word out that you are looking for employment within their professional or skillset.
Here is an example of a good Application Letter that I have created for the purpose of applying for employment vacancies within a specific profession.

·        Communicate verbally
